Education, Empowerment & Massage

I am passionate about sharing the knowledge I’ve gained regarding the human body because of how deeply this knowledge has changed my life. I am eternally grateful that my path has led me to massage therapy, particularly the enriching Kinesiology classes that were integral to my education. Being able to name the muscles that I feel as I stretch, move, and strengthen has deepened my relationship with my physical body. I feel more gratitude, reverence, and awe for this incredible vessel than I ever thought possible. As I continue to build my practice of womb focused massage therapy, I find the clients who are drawn to me are also excited to learn about their anatomy. I love feeling my clients muscles soften, release, and their pulse strengthening as I direct their awareness to the entire muscle— from the tendinous attachment (where muscle/tendon connects to bone), through the muscle belly, and to the other tendinous attachment. As I gently guide my clients’ awareness deeper into their body, their breath shifts, and they are often able to feel where else in their body is tensing in response to this muscle being worked. Together, we work like a pair of detectives, understanding patterns of holding in the body and therefore offering even deeper opportunities for release.

Before I began pursuing my career as a Massage Therapist in 2021, I was an educator. Formally earning my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 2015, I worked as a teacher in schools, outdoor education, a variety of camps, and as a yoga teacher for over 7 years. Educating and guiding others is something that comes naturally to me and lights me up with joy. When I started out on the path of massage therapy, I found myself curious about my education background, and if that would play a role in my new career ventures.

Here I find myself, a little over a year post graduation, beginning to find the marriage of these two paths. I love educating others, empowering my clients to take care of their bodies through different self-massage techniques, exercises and stretches. I love sharing with them which muscles we are working on, so they can get to know their body too. Massage is incredibly beneficial- supporting the nervous system, muscular release, postural structural balancing, and more. However, I believe the greatest gift I can give my clients does not lie within our 90 minute or 2 hour session. The greatest gift I can give is knowledge, empowerment, and to make sure each person I work with knows that their healing is within their own hands. This knowledge and empowerment assists us in deepening our relationship with our body, cultivating a fertile ground of gratitude, reverence and care for us to flourish in.

Recently I have found myself finding joy in sharing the potency of self-massage in a small group ceremonial style container, an experience I’ve curated coined Vital Womben. In this container I guide women through womb-focused mediations and self-abdominal massage. This gives women the opportunity to connect with the energy held within their pelvic bowl, both their own and ancestral energies, while deepening their understanding of their own anatomy. As women, we are in a time of reclamation-of our bodies and our unique feminine expression. This is vital to our physical health, as well as to our emotional&energetic alignment. These Vital Womben offerings give women the hands on tools to care for their body, supporting themselves through their menstrual cycle, and healing from a variety of experiences including sexual trauma, pregnancy loss, postpartum, and abdominal/womb surgery to name a few. Vital Womben is a beautiful intertwining of physical and energetic healing and I am deeply grateful to be offering this work at this time.

As I walk my path in this life, my outer expression continues to evolve and change. My prayer remains the same- to honor my Highest Self and to fulfill my purpose on this planet. I am grateful for the evolution of my purpose and trust that as I continue to follow the breadcrumbs I will be of service while living a joyful and purposeful life. For now, I will continue to be lit up by the marriage of education and massage, grateful that I have found work that lights up my soul and makes life fun.
